Disappointment

Well this is my 200th post. I was hoping to post a great time for 'Erin' but 5 pull-ups into the first round I just felt beat and couldn't get more that 2 pull-ups in a row. I then muddled through various exercises for 20 min before calling it a day. I tried a benchmark row of 500m to start and completed it in 136.6, well off my normal pace. I felt so out of it today I was yawing during the row. Hopefully my 201st post will be better with another shot at 'Erin

Jake,
So glad I found your blog today. This yr will be my first time participating in the 90-miler and I have no idea what to expect!!! I should note that this will also be my first marathon paddle.

I can totally identify with your "disappointment" post. After a couple months of training I found out that the mile markers I was using to track my progress were, in fact, GPS markers. I cannot tell you how discouraging it is to find out that you've only been going 8 miles, instead of 18.

I started using mapmyrun to track my paddles after that. Now it's just trying to find time to fit in those long paddles. I'm also realizing the importance of sipping water throughout the paddle and packing protein bars/snacks to keep my energy up.

Thanks again for bloggin on this :)
